Designer: Norristown, PA

Total Engineering (TEC) is searching for both part time and full time Designers and CAD Technicians. TEC is a utility engineering company providing design services for the gas, water, telecommunications, and power sectors. This position performs CAD Design duties primarily in AutoCAD. The Designer will perform a wide range of design tasks such as utility plan development, profiles, details, report preparation, and site inspection and walk downs. This position will also be responsible for coordinating with engineers, other technicians and/or administrative staff.

Description:

  • Collaborate with designers and engineers to develop design drawings in coordination with utility projects.
  • Utilize AutoCAD xref’s, blocks/cells and block/cell libraries.
  • Revise plans based on redlined mark-ups.
  • Develop and expand expertise and skill in approved CAD applications.
  • Apply CAD expertise and skill in the development of detailed existing utility plan drawings in coordination with utility record plans.
  • Maintain project electronic files and archives.
  • Develop design drawings that adhere to both TEC and client standards while following construction and material specifications.
  • Schedule field and office work as necessary under direction and input from project managers.
  • Responsible for design and review of all aspects of utility infrastructure components and facilities within the client’s standards and current operations.
  • Coordinate with managers and staff and meet with client, government entities, and various other permitting agencies to fulfill project requirements.
  • Work independently and with engineering team personnel on design and provides regular communication and updates to the TEC’s project teams.
  • Perform field work as required to meet project requirements.
    Other related tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • An Associate’s degree or related technical certificate.
  • 1-5 years of CADD detailing and/or drafting experience.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Valued but not required skills experience:
  • Utilities experience.

Civil Engineer: Norristown, PA

The Engineer will perform a wide range of design tasks such as utility plan development, profiles, details, report preparation, and site inspection and walk downs. This position will also be responsible for coordinating with other engineers, designers and/or administrative staff.

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline
  • A minimum of two years of experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civile 3D and/or GIS is desirable
  • EIT certification is a plus
